Buildings in the Bulge WWII

I looked through an entire book about the Battle of the Bulge and I couldnot find a good refrence picture to tell me basic characteristics of the buildings in Bastoung and stuff like that… can anyone post a picture(s) or link to a picture(s) that I could use as a good reference photo [?][?][?]

Hey Airbrush
If you enter Bastogne in your search engine one of the first sites that pops up is the City of Bastogne. It has a number of pics of both present day and past pics of the town. Many of the present day pics are applicable to the 1944 - 45 era as they haven’t changed much since then.

It comes up with nothing that helps and I forgot to put in that I already searched the internet on Google, AltaVista, and MSN.

There we go:

Click on ‘Gallerie Photos’; there’s 2 pages of pictures including one with pre-1948 pictures that should make your day.

Glad I could help. If you need more, I have plenty of friends living in that part of Belgium, so just ask.

ok then, do you think you could get some pictures of a few of them wrecked? If you can thanks if you cant thats ok.

I’ve seen many Ardennes building destroyed but only in books. And there are just so many about that particular battle that I would not know where to start. I can help you with buildings in one piece, because a lot of them have not changed that much since 1944, but you’d better off with books for destroyed houses. The Battle of the Bulge is not my main ‘cup of tea’ (I prefer the early WWII stuff) and I therefore have rather little pictorial references about that. There must be in this forum people who have what you want. I’ll post a link to the Armor forum and we will see what come out of there!
