I used some of the kit parts and added a few details to convert their Ausf A into a B for an Anzio piece. The tracks and sprocket are from the A, but I have some info that has the As swtiched over to Bs during production so I’m taking a little liberty here, figuring they would send some out with the older tracks if they had 'em.
The camo is free hand am I’m still having a little trouble, but this thing’s going to covered in mud so I’m not that worried on it.
Any and all comments and input extremely welcome.
Thanks Tom,
I just did it, really didn’t look for references, I wanted to practice making fine smooth lines. I still get a bit of these tiny splatters around the edge, but by the time I’ve washed and weathered it, they shouldn’t be visible. I need practice, but I’m having fun.
That camo looks great to me buddy! Don’t muddy it up too much, really a fine start, ausf.
An unusual subject is always welcome, interesting! PS-any figures planned on this one?
Here is a interesting shot of a B IV-B. The driver was killed after driving over a mine. What is interesting is the fact that the explosive charge did not detonate from the concussion of the mine exploding, which tore a fairly sizable hole in the floor plate.
They even tested one of these using a TV camera for unmanned reconnaissance. Didn’t work to well, they kept breaking vacuum tubes while moving X-country.
