Buff's Firefly Vc progress pics (update with new pics)

I’m just getting to the interesting bits now. I started the tracks a couple of days ago. They’re Accurate Armour. I have them assembled and base coated. I started weathering them today. I also gave the hull and turret their washes today as well. The pics are of the tank before I started the weathering.

I’ll update once I’ve gotten more of the weathering done.

Thanks to all for the kind words. I checked the results of the washes this morning and it looks good so far. I’ll update after MTD.

I have my doubts. It doesn’t look good for any hockey right now [:(!]. I hope I’m wrong.

Looks good Buff. keep us posted. semper fi, mike

Not too bad so far. They went together ok. I had to cut one of the lengths to get the right number of links, and that wasn’t much fun. Cutting them so that I didn’t cut off the end connectors was tricky, and I sliced open my finger too! I test fitted them along the return rollers and road wheels, and while the road wheels fit well, the track guides were a little too close together for the the return rollers. I may have to sand down the rollers to make the tracks fit. I tried forming one set around the idler, and it was dead easy. I hope to have them on by the end of next week. If you have any pointers, believe me, I’m all ears!

Buff,

Hair dryer is definetly the way - it’s a little tougher if the suspension moves

If you get into trouble - glue the tracks to the road wheels and form from there

Allied tracks - a little tougher - no sag

Sounds like you are off to a good start (except for the slash)

Those decals snuggled down nice by the looks Buff. Looking forward to seeing the weathering results. Good luck with the tracks.

Very Cool buff, I like that. The Fireflys are a favorite of mine. The just look so neat with that long barrel… They have that “I’ve had enough of this crap” look to them!

Keep painting pal

That green looks great. What shade is it?

It’s Tamiya’s Japanes Army Green, XF-13, preshaded with black.
Jim, thanks for the tips. I’m hoping they will go on ok.

Nice work buff. Like the shade of green.

Keep well.
