Buffalo,OOB

I came upon this period photo of Canadian ambulance jeeps disembarking
from Buffalo on a sandy beach,it grabed me so I built the scene right around
the time the kit came out.

Russ, looks great. I really like the guy manning the .50 in the jacket (third pic), he looks great. Another great dio.

I like it[^]

Great dio sasd just like all the others! And such a different scene too

Another fine work!

Thankyou guys,Heavy, you wouldn`t believe where I came across that figure, the cut of the guy was just too good to pass up! I found him in a 50 cent bag of kids sandbox toys!
Love the mustache on the figure, very British.Took some washing with soap and water
to clean him up though, man they use alot of compound on those kinds of plastic!
Thanks again.

Awesome scene! Lots of action is a little space. Well done!

Well done indeed, looks awsome, thanks for the pics…

WOW it’s great! Love the weathering too. What did u use for the sand?

That looks awesome, I love the idea!

The beach was done as the snow was except that here I used two tones of sand to hilight various areas for the figures and gear. It was put on first underneath the Buffalo and hit with white glue/water mix, then the Buffalo was embedded into the sand. Now the rest of the beach was spoon fed onto the base and around the vehicle paying attention to colour mixs and depth of sand in comparison to the vehicle. This is all done dry, then hit with white glue/water mix. This freezes the drift of the sanddunes as well as the depth into wheels and tracks.

See what happens when I don’t go on the 'net all weekend? I miss out! Cool little build Russ, have you finally taken this thing out of the Shaver Shop? LOL The whole theme is simple, but it tells the story instantly.
Great job.

Yep,brought it home awhile ago.

Another outstanding job Russ. What a treat. Semper Fi, mike

Yeah, how did I miss this one…I have this kit at home and plan to do something similar but that is still a far ways off. I have not started my research yet, But are there really that few markings on the Buffalo?
BTW excellent build, I love it.

For the Canadian and British Buffalo I had a devil of a time locating any markings at all,
even resorted to film footage, not much to be had so a good guess was in order.

Well it looks great, i failed to mention how much i like the weathering on this build.

nice job sasd[bow][bow] see you at the next water buffalo meeting with fred, barney, and uncle snapp

Excellent work on the diorama. The figure painting is very nicely done.
