Broken windscreen Trumpeter 1:24 p-40b

While masking, I dropped the front windscreen for my P-40B model by Trumpeter. I thought, “Move your right leg way out from where it is so you do not step on it, since it hit your right inner calf…”

…it was then that I promptly heard a shattering sound as I set my right foot right down on top of the front windscreen, and broke it in half.

I screamed an explative, and found only one half of the piece.

Just my luck.

Any ideas on what to do now? Scratch- building a clear piece is far from my skill level, and I only can find one half!

Can I order only one sprue? If so, how? I was not able to find a Trumpeter web site.

Or- does anyone have a suggestion?

I did basically the same thing with my Trumpeter P-40. I e-mailed Trumpeter customer service and Stevens International(pretty sure thats the name), which is Trumpeter’s US distributor. Never got a reply from Trumpeter, and Stevens gave me the run around. I ended up buying another kit so I could finish the first one. Kinda dumb, but the unfinished Tomahawk was driving me nuts.

Ha, well, I don’t think I could do that. I will try customer service as well and if nothing comes of it, I will have to try a scratch built one, and then I will hang it up in my kids room and consider this a lesson learned!
