British Quad Gun Tractor

I’m ready to start building this kit and have already hit a wall[banghead]. The instructions Tamiya has furnished, do not include any painting guides. This is where I need your help. I’m going to build it for the North Afarican (oops) campaign. The exterior color will be desert yellow with the black “Mickey Mouse” type camo. My first question is this…is the undercarriage yellow or od? Is the interior yellow or od? Are the seats a canvas color or od?
Any help you pros can give me will be greatly appreciated.[:D]

I’m no expert, but as a rule of tumb, if the vehicle was tranfered from another front and painted locally, only the exterior would have been painted in the local scheme. Thus the interior and under carraige would be whatever color they were before. If the vehicle was purpose built or depot prepared for the desert it’d be yellow/sand overall with the scheme painted over it. Canvas seats tend to be of a green color most of the time, but I like to use Testor’s MM Field Drab #30118 for most of my canvas. It may not be completely accurate, but I like the way it looks.

The easy way is,desert yellow with a little o.d. chipping.
Undercarriage usually covered with a lot of dust and mud [:D]
For interior color better use o.d. for more interest…Possibly there are some interior repainted with yellow together with exterior
