I know that after the war we lent the Brits some B-29s for their nukes, I believe it was, and they flew them under the name of “Washington” bombers. Does anyone have a reference with photos of these? I saw them somewhere, but forgot where. Also saw Jupiter C ICBMs in Brit markings somewhere.

Almost forgot! It’s just one shot, but the more images the better, in my book…
Fade to Black…
Two of these aircraft where used by the RAAF here in Australia for nuke test back in the '50’s.
Rob.
I’m not sure, but believe that in “Wings Of Fame” (shame it’s out of print !!!) there was an article about the RAF of the '50s, with at least a photo of a “Washington”.
Good luck,
Diego.
Just remembered: Scale Aircraft Modeling did a piece on them complete with their exhaustive profiles, but it has been years and I don’t know if they have the back issue.
