Brewster Buffalo 339e in 25 Sqn RAAF -A51-13 progress

G’day Folk’s,

This 48 scale bird is not the Pacific Issue of the Buffalo kit by Tamiya, it is the reissued F2 US Navy version, modified with Eduard PE and my own resin and other modifications. Pix show bsis model with modifications prior to painting and the cammo painting so far. This bird will have a vacformed canopy fitted to it shortly as the decals are AM for A51-13, which was flown as a Photo Recon bird in Australia only, they were never used outside the country in combat, as the area Comander Northern region deamed they were obsolite and unsuitable for their propossed use.

Showing the modifications of the base model and the PE fitted to the cockpit

The cammo on this bird is done free hand using Humbrol enamel and Humbrol Authentic colour, the cammo is RAAF Sky Grey under neath with Olive Drab #155 and the US Dark Green 42 from the Humbrol Authentic range.

Very, very nice buffalo Rob, the free hand camo looks great and the cockpit is also outstanding! Can’t wait to see the decals.
