Having never built a Brengun kit before I though I would give this little guy a try. It is a cool little rocket powered fighter that was designed to be a contender in the Light Weight Fighter program that gave the Natter eventually won.
The kit comes on one sprue save for the clear canopy. The low parts count belies the fact that this is a limited run type kit with no locating features and butt joins. Still, it is well molded with nice surface detail.
I also got the photo etch set designed for the kit by Brengun as well thinking it would add some extra details.
The cockpit is a bit of a challenge to get alighned correctly, and the instrument panel interferes with teh control stick, or vice versa, either way I scratched up a new stick.
Once the cockpit was fit, a fit check was done to make sure everything else would fit as it should.
After this the cockpit was detailed, painted and the major pieces were stuck together.

And a small base for the finished build. Epoxy putty was rolled out and a can lid of the correct diameter was used to cut a circle out of the epoxy putty. The lines in the hardstand section were scribed in and the concrete and eart areas painted. The earth area has since been covered with atatic grass.
I love “NapkinWaffe” designs! Did this one get towed into the air via a Bf-109 or something? Is the armament a single 30mm cannon under the nose? The pilot would have had to have some serious courage to swoop down on a box formation of B-17s!
Yes, 30mm under the nose. These were to be towed into the air and in the general direction of the approaching enemy aircraft by Me-262’s using a “towbar” type arrangement. While maybe not fun, it seems it would be guaranteed to be exciting [:|]
