I normally use .015"…it looks pretty good scale-wise. I’ve used .020" in the past and it also looks good.
Agree with the above sizes, I use plastic rod though. Brass (any metal) just seems too stiff to me.
I use the same sizes mentioned, but I use steel guitar string. It’s flexible and tough which is important with grandchildren about the house.
Hi men, I use phone cable, the stuff that connects the phone to the socket on the wall etc: Strip it and pull it tight to straighten it. It’s single strand and quite springy, run it through a black marker and cut to length required. I think they look ok and costs almost nothing. Have fun, John.
seems easy for me to just hold some sprue over a candle and heat it up a bit and streatch it. I dunno, for the poor modler like me, it is a good alternative, and it can be shaped with no problem!
I used a Bristol from an old paint brush for the first time and I like the way it looks.
Easy to do, flexible, and there’s enough in a paint brush to last a really long time.
