Boyd's high gloss

Nobody in the paint section seems to know this one. Can I spray Boyd’s high gloss clear directly over clear parts?

Only one way to find out for sure. Take a scrap piece/part and try it.

My suspicion is that anything in a spray can will likely cause damage to ‘clear’ parts. The better bet would be to use Future instead. It won’t harm clear parts and does an awesome job of making them look bright and clear…

I’m starting to dislike future as it tends to get runny. If I build it up slow it’s grainy and never really shines. I know that Metallizer sealer can be airbrushed over clear parts. I don’t really have any spare parts to practice on.

If you are talking about the Testors Colors by Boyd enamels, it should work fine.

The best way I’ve found to use Future on clear parts is to simply dip them while you still have them on the sprue.

dip it in future

yep, just make sure there is no bubbles in the future, then dip and place them on something to dry. works good for me!!!
