For an entry fee of £10, it’s a good afternoon’s entertainment. I could have spent all day there, actually!

Thanks for sharing, Brews. The more old armor I see, the happier I am I served in more modern armor. But that old stuff sure does rock.
Lots of fumes and hurt heads in that WWI tank, I bet!

Apparently (I learned this yesterday!) there were more deaths due to carbon monoxide poisoning than enemy fire in those WWI tanks!
Here’s an interesting SPG:
and the interior of the Jagdtiger (P):
The one that started them all - Little Willie:
and you can see how it evolved into the later Rhomboidal tanks:
though it doesn’t share much in common with this one:
Hey Brews! Thanks for sharing those pics! I envy you buddy! Is the Hetzer a real one or a G-13?
On the web page it says you can return as many times as you like on the same ticket. Now for 10 pounds that’s not bad at all. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Is your other nickname “Tankspotter”? There wasn’t much to go on in that photo!
I believe it’s a genuine one … I don’t recall it being a diesel. Tell me if you can pick it from the following pics:
Yes, as many times as you like within 12 months. Or, for £300, you can get to ride around in a tank obstacle course for a day (or something of that nature).
As at the Imperial War Museum at Duxford (which also has a reasonably decent display) the tanks are regularly taken out for a drive / display. There are placards on the tanks stating how much fuel is in the fuel tanks. The Tiger 1 is in pristine condition, except for battle damage.
… and for a real oddity:
which reminds me of “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade”.
Awesome movie!! I think it is a genuine Hetzer, so far all the pics I saw of a G-13 have a muzzle brake. This one doesn’t look like it ever had any treads on the barrel. I might be wrong for the ID though as the Hetzer serie is my black beast
Looks designed by the folks who brought you the battleship! Same basic way of thinking, looks like.

Finally tonight, I have the Pzkw IV Ausf H … not quite a walkaround:
I have always loved the looks of the Pzkw IV. However, I wonder did they bog down in mud easier than other vehicles as they appear to have such a low ground clearance?
Keep posting your pics, Brews. They’re good shots!

cool man havn’t been there since 1984, damn I’m getting old. Sorry 1983.did see the Rolls Royce owned by Michael Collins, the Cavalry workshop in the Curragh owns it but had to wait t’ll it came to Dublin. love the shot, was reading that the British wouldn’t suply them to the Irish during the Civil war because they didn’t know who would win so they supplied the cheaper option the Lancia to free state troops. The Free state forces apparntly even used them on railways.

I believe this one is a up-gunned and up-armored Ausf. D
I may be wrong and really proven wrong, i.e. almost chasticed for the comments but I think this upgunned PzIV was the subject of the first build in aucthung panzer No.1 the panzer Iv. agreat book from some years back.
Terry.
Ah, the Vickers Independent.
It’s an excellent museum. Beats the hell out of Patton and Aberdeen. Been there more times than I can remember now, even got a personal tour by David Fletcher!
They will accept foreign military ID, which gets you in free. (Officially it’s British, but Irish and US IDs have worked too! I’m sure commonwealth is just as good.)

Quote: which reminds me of “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade”.
If memory serves, the tank in that was based on Bovingtons’ Mk VIII “International” (aka “Anglo-American” and “Liberty”), http://mailer.fsu.edu/~akirk/tanks/GreatBritain/GB-MarkVIII.jpg
made by the films SFX guy, with what looks like a MkIII or MkVII Churchill turret, but isn’t

Judging by the 6-hole idler wheel (as well as the poster in front of the vehicle which has “Hetzer” on it) I’m thinking it’s the real McCoy.
Fantastic photos - thanks for sharing.

Great stuff, and it’s nice to see some WW I armor in your photos. Just the other night I was looking at the female with the anti-grenade device wondering what it was. Then to see your picture. LOL
Very good reference material, thank You Bruce.
