Borg in a Bog.

This is my last project, a Borgward B IV. It’s Dragon’s 1/35 kit and it’s only slightly larger than a 1/72 tank.

It’s a late A or early B, however you look at it and was built for an Anzio build. These little monsters weren’t successful there due to the muddy terrain, which I tried to reflect in the build. I left the Borg with a shine and added puddles in the bootprints and tracks to get the look of fresh drizzle.

Any and all comments greatly appreciated.

Great Jeff !! I love it.
Now you just need a funklenk Tiger to go with it.

No way, ausf! I just know you’ve got a few more projects left in you. [:p]

Looks great, as usual.

looks good, I really like that camo scheme

Looks good from here. Nice work.

Regards, Rick

looks great! really like the mud effect!

Thanks guys,

Thom, I’ll get to that eventually, I’d like to do a 313 dio with Tiger and Borgs.

Larry, Good one, I should have said latest huh? I hope I didn’t jinx myself…

You’ve certainly captured the bog look for your borg, Ausf! Excellent job, unusual subject. Thanks for sharing. Semper Fi, mike

Just add a couple of figures for that human touch and it’s a wrap, congrat’s.

what did you use for the mud if you don’t mind me asking?

I saw that thing in the local hobby shop for the first time last week. What exactly was it used for?
By the way I love the camo job.
Ryan

great dio. That mud looks real

Hey a bogged down borg. What else could be more original? Great work Ausf. Love the mud.

Thanks guys.

I cut down the wheels and sunk it in a plaster, sculpting it as it set up. I then Airbrushed the base and the bottom hull red brown. After that it was simply some binder with pigment and real dirt added to the tracks, wheels and scattered on the ground. Finished up with Future dumped in the impressions for standing water.

No figures, it’s abandoned.

Ryan, they were explosive carriers. They could be driven to a location, then controlled by radio from there. The boxy thing in the front is the charge that could be dumped and then the rest backed away before detonation. They were used for clearing minefields or assaulting fixed positions.

Nice to see something different. The camo looks very nice as does the mud. Well done.

Looks allright. Loved the mud.
Does it have interior?

Thanks for sharing the pictures and the plaster/mud technique Ausf. Now if we could only get you to lend some of that German freehand camo skill you have. Does that come in a pill or syrup ?? [:D][;)]

Neat-O ! !

It comes in the form of a bent AB needle. I have since fixed it so I may never be able to do it again. [;)]

Thanks for the comments guys.

Beautiful paint job ! I have yet to get a subtle camo like that on mine ,
Great job all around , I think it time to call for a tow ! [:D]
