Used Tamiya Rattle can to paint the yamato’s hull. One piece of fibre from the air landed on the hull before the paint dried. It landed near the aft section where the propellers are. I have to use hand and remove that fibre and now that area is messed up. Its sort of like bulging out a little and coarse from the touching
can i just sand away that area and repaint it? What is the procedure on fixing it…helllp me plzzz
Let the paint cure THOROUGHLY (as in a couple of days) and then use progressively fine grits of sandpaper to clean it up. If the paint starts to roll up under the sandpaper it wasn’t fully cured. Make sure to clean off all of the sanding grit and dust and then respray the affected area (since it’s Tamiya rattle can laquer, try some alcohol on a lint free cloth like a piece of a t-shirt). It should work out fine.
thank u music city
i love u!
Tamiya synth lacquer dries very fast. You can go ahead & respray almost any time. Or, spray it into one of your airbrush jars & airbrush it on to control it better.
I agree that it does dry pretty quickly, I use their primer a lot, but if it isn’t fully cured sanding with even very fine sandpaper will gouge it pretty badly. Better to let it cure thoroughly before you start sanding on it.
Thanks, I think [:I]
