Bomber GB ' 18 - '19

This GB is dedicated to the “Bomber” aircraft.

The main weapon of the craft has/had to have been bombs, not cannons or rockets/missles.

Eg, a JU 87 divebomber is OK, a JU87 “cannon bird” is not.

Hawker Typhoon with mainly bombs ,OK, but same plane with mainly rockets,not

-Any aircraft be it fixed wing or Zepplin, any conflict, any scale allowed.

-Crossovers allowed

-started up to 25% allowed

-WIP pix please

-start date 01 Feb '18 end date 01 April '19 (14 months)

-full after market bling allowed or straight out the box just as welcome

Two Italeri FIAT BR.20 level bombers in Regia Aeronautica Italia livery; February 1st projected start, likely will take all month to build them.

Currently building my absolute last Airfix Savoia-Marchetti S.79 level bomber in Regia Aeronautica Italia livery, should have it done by February 1st, does it qualify for this Group Build?

OK, I’m in with a Monogram 1/48 Heinkel He-111. May be just the model, or I may make a diorama out of it, now that Tamiya has the SS-100 German Heavy Tractor available in 1/48 scale (money burning a hole in my pocket)…

I’m in with a Mono 1/48 B-24D. Haven’t done one of the big ones since I was a teen! Pretty excited about digging into one again! Now…what to paint her up as and gear up or down?! [:^)]

Nice start, i am in with a 1/72nd MPM Blenheim Mk I. Can get that in at the end of the year and might be able to add another next year.

Ken, Stirling is WW2, one of 3 4 engined heavy bombers used by the RAF

Thanks Bish Shows How much I know about British bombers. I seen a couple of British That are definitely ww1 on Ebay. I’ll let you know what I come up with

I don’t know much about WW1 aircraft, the only 2 bombers i can recall, other than the Zeppelins, are the British 0/400 and German Gotha.

Hi Theuns so any plane with Defensive weapons how about Torpedoes ?

I was thinking about that very same question, in my first gut feel I would think that it is a rather grey area as it is an underwater “missle” for lack of a better description.

This would then mean that an air to ground missle or rocket would also count for this GB…it is a tough one but I would say maybe any weapon that was “propelled” does not come to mind if I were to think of an aircraft dropped bomb.

Unless the majority of the guys think I am wrong with this assesment?

Bish had come up with some stunning badges, I will ask him to post, you guys will love them I am sure :slight_smile:

Would like to join with the Academy 1/72, B-17E, Pacific Theater, OOB. Will get it started sometime mid-year.
