Boeing Simulator Tour

[wow] [^] [8D] [:)] I didn’t get any modeling done today, but the alternative was well worth it. The Boeing Company in St Louis had their once per 5 years open house in the simulator section for employees and up to 3 guests. My daughter, the [angel] that she is, took her husband, mother and father. They had what they called “desk top sims”, where the photos were taken, that were pretty limited in scope. Then they had the 360 degree, full motion sims for the F-15C, F-15E, F/A-18E, F/A-18F and EF-18G set up for use. I tried out the F/A-18F that they had set up for carrier landings. The operator had programmed in no wind, stable deck and auto throttle, but you still had to fly the plane in all three axes. I made a successful landing the first try, which pretty much shocked the operator. Then I went to the F-15C where it was one good guy against 4 bad guys, with the bad guys being moderately docile for defense and offense. I got three of them before #4 got me.
Then my wife and I tried out the dual F/A-18E setup where you go against each other. She shot me down 2 out of 3 with 1 draw. Talk about taking the wind out of your sails! Overall, a GREAT day!
