Boeing 727-100 (pic)

This is a kit that I started a good 6 years ago, and that I’m going to try to complete in 2004…[}:)]

It’s the 1/100 VEB/Plasticard kit (which explains why it has taken me soooo long to get so far…!)

The kit is the ‘normal’ passenger plane, but I wanted a colourful livery and went for a cargo plane operated by ITA of Brazil. I had to close the fuselage windows, and open up some crew and cargo doors. It’s hidden here by masking material, but the inside is detailed. On the other side of the fuselage, another cargo door is open too. One engine will be left off, place on the ground while mechanics will be working on engine no.2 (the central unit).

The kit is quite horrid, with a very tough but brittle plastic. Tons of rivets heads 'decorated the kit parts and had to be sanded down… The wings are about 75% done, with all slats and flaps re-built (the kit wings did not have any spare flaps) and soon to be glued into place…

Watch this space!

Hey, Domi! This is bound to be a very interesting build! i doubt you get to use the color orange very much in this hobby! [;p] How about showing us the otherside/interior if you have the picture handy! [:)] Keep us posted!

Hey Domi, great work there, that is one real pig of a kit and to get it looking that good is nothing short of awesome. can’t wait to see it finished. Greg

Looks great, it is a great paint job. I love the color. Can’t wait to see it finished.

You always choose very interesting liveries, Domi!
