Boeing 40-C and Stearman's

Went to a small “airshow” here in Spokane, W.A. A local guy that restores Stearman biplanes restored an Boeing 40-C mailplane. It’s the oldest flying Boeing in the world and one of only three left of this aircraft. The other two being un-operational in museums. Today was it’s first “public” flight. The other being it’s test flights back in February. It was an amazing experience and here are some pictures to share! (They even let me cross the tape to get a bunch of close-ups on the Stearman’s). I have about 60 pictures in all of the multiple planes from this event, all in high-res. If anyone would like all the pictures from this event just e-mail me @ Fast510@comcast.net and we’ll work something out.

Enjoy!

Those are great shots with lots of detail. I particularly like the last photo. Very interesting info on the Boeing 40-C mailplane. Thanks for sharing with us.

OOOOH, nice pics. Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Rick

Great pics! The Stearman has always been a favorite of mine. [tup]

Beautiful Pics - Was sitting here thinking - FSM had an article w/plans on how to scratch build a Boeing 40 in one of its early issues.

Very nice pics! For my Dad’s 75th birthday, we all chipped in and bought him a ride in a Stearman. The smile on his face in the pics we took says it all. Thanks for sharing!

I’ll post a few more in here to share with you guys. The last one is my current desktop wallpaper, I touched it up a little with photoshop to bring the true colors out more and get rid of the gray. (If any of you guys want a few photos in high-res just let me know and i’ll e-mail them to you).

Enjoy
