Hey folks!
This E1 build represent ‘Yellow 10’ from II/JG 54 during the latter part of the Battle of Britain
The pics are a little fuzzy, but I’m working on getting decent lighting to solve that[:)]
As always, any opinions are very welcome, whether they be positive or negative[:D]
Thanks guys, appreciate it[:D]
The weathering is basic as.
I tried all the pre and post shading stuff, but could never get it to look ‘right’
SO my shading is done purely with Tamiya smoke, thinned quite harshly, and just built up over time.
I spray some shading on, and look at the result under different lights, to see just how the effect appears, and if it needs more it gets more.
The wash is MM Raw Umber for the top sections, and oil paints for the lower areas that are open to more dirt etc.
This gives a bit more of a reality boost IMHO.
After that, it’s just some pastels for exhaust stains, and a custom mix flat coat.
Graphite plays a large part on the exhaust manifold itself, to give the metallic look.
Thanks for all your replies folks, [8)], humbling.
The camo scheme was definately different from the usual mottling, which is why I chose this one to model.
It comprises of RLM 65 underneath and along the side of the fuse. The splinter scheme is RLM 71 and 02, which also makes up the camo along the fuselage, mainly RLM 71 infilled with RLM 02.
The 02 is slightly harder to see, at least in the pic, but does break up the lines ofthe a/c, which is probably why JG54 chose it.
