I’m planning a major scratchbuilding project, an early BTR-90 (I’ll make even a wheel master). I know that it uses a BMP-2 turret. I have some papermodels to start (a BMP-2 and a BTR-90), I’ll use them as blueprints, the problem is: Those paper models are not in 1/35, are just scans and I think they’re not even in 1/25 as intended, so I can’t just print them and use them. Anyone who has a BMP-2: I need the dimensions of the turret. It is a “frustum of a cone”-like turret, so I need the diameter of the base, the diameter of the roof and the height, with those measures, I can reduce the images I have to 1/35, then print the images in self-stick paper and stick it in styrene sheets, I found this metod in Starship Modellers and I want to try it. Best regards.

Oh yes, I forgot. I’m not asking for Model Point replacement turrets of 1/35 kits from ESCI or DML/Zvezda, I just want those measures. Best regards.

I’ve been give these measures: base diameter: 5.9 cm, roof diameter: 4.5 cm, overall height: 1.2 cm… Now, these measures are from the Dragon kit, the person who gave me this emasures told me that Dragon’s BMP-2 is based on pictures instead of first hand inspection, and given the dimmensional accuracies on another Soviet kits (T-72, T-80), these measures may not be so accurate… Well, if someone has something more accurate (like an aftermarket resin turret, I know that there are some out there), I’ll be waiting for the info. Instead of the three measures, I think just the diameter of the base will be enough. Best regards.

Well, this is not encouraging at all, almost frustrating… I got tired of waiting and lost interest on it. I cancel my project definitely, I’ll just wait until a styrene kit is released. Best regards.
