Are the Bluetank kits any good?
In a nutshell … NO
Every one that I have ever seen is either way out to lunch on scale or needs extensive plastic surgery.
Reissues of old, mostly bad kits. Several are really strange, like the copy of the Monogram Weasel that was enlarged and includes several small sized soldiers.
That’s about as gentle as it can be put.
IMHO They aren’t worth the time.
I’ve seen a couple floating around here in Australia. They sure don’t do themselves any favours with their packaging. They just scream at you… “AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!” ,like the old Academy kits a bit.
Funny you should mention that. i saw a kuble wagon at the local hooby shop and when i saw the plain box something about it said “stay away!”.LOL
It must be a moders “sixth sense” or something. Heck the box didn’t even have a scale on it. I aske the shop owner and said it was 1/35. Long story short I had a bad feeling and left it where it was!LOL
Oh, I remember that unit from WWII – the elite Shire Brigade. They were given special reinforced Weasels so they could drive the Atom Bomb to Mt. Fuji and drop it in. [:p]
They scaled up the M4 high speed tractor, but it has no interior, bad wheels, and awful treads.
That said, it would be a good starting point for a detailing project, as the shape is mostly right. Heck, many guys would use aftermarket treads anyway. You’d also need to stea lsome wheels from a Sherman. And there’s all the empty space inside to deal with.
But the alternative is $185 for the PSP model.
Ok, will leave them alone. Tanks
lmao
Good for Scifi builds, most not even close to any true scale Stephen
I was thinking doing some scifi kits with some of these cheap kits floating around.
I’ve got the weasel, it’s way out of scale and will be the only Blue Tank kit I ever buy.
Bluetanks should change there name to Browntanks, there that bad
