For only the second time ever, Tulsa had a blizzard on Feb 1 this year. I had 3 days in a row off work and managed to build this during that time. Due to my crazy schedule, I’m only now able to post the pictures.
The kit is Accurate Miniatures’ Yak-1 on (appropriately) skis. It was built OOB, no modifications or additions to make it a quick and simple build that was also a lot of fun.
I used Tamiya acrylics for the base camo paint, then craft paint over hairspray for the whitewash. The underside blue was Mr. Color Air Superiority Blue (love that paint). I used several different techniques to distress the white, from a stiff brush to a paper towel and my fingers. The weathering is a mix of Tamiya acrylics airbrushed and pastel powders.
Thanks for looking.
