Black Pearl

Hello,

I’ve been lurking this site for some months now but finally decided to sign up.

A while back some of you where discussing the Black Pearl from Potc.

I happened upon a site in Japan where someone is scratch building one.

Though you might find it interesting.

The dates on the right take you to diffirent pages of in progress pix.

Link

Enjoy.

Eric…

Greetings:

Thanks for sharing that link, it’s pretty interesting. Is there an English translation of it? I’m curious about what kit they used as the basis for this project. I downloaded the same drawing of the Pearl from another site with the idea of scratch building one but haven’t done anything with it yet. Welcome to the forum. You’ll find there are a lot of very knowledgable anf friendly people here who are willing to help out on just about anything if you have any questions on something. Once again welcome aboard. “Why is the rum always gone?” (Captain Jack Sparrow).

Sincerely

Michael Lacey

Thanks for the welcome.

I don’t think there is an English version of the site but Bablefish (sp) might work or even Goggle Translate.

I’ve been reading all the post on sailing ships including some I built may years ago.

In fact I recently picked a few of them to try my hand at again, this time actually painting them.[(-D]

Looking for a close replica of the Golden Hind like the full sized replica used for the Blarney Co** in the movie Swashbuckler.

Cheers.

Eric…

Heller makes a 1/200 Golden Hind and

Lindberg had a version of the Golden Hind also.

I also downloaded the plans for the Black Pearl from a publicity site that covered the filiming. It showed how the Black Pearl was built over the hull of the Sunset, a modern motored vessel.

I reposted the line drawings here. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=969514

Ah, found the original website. IGN… if you click on the plan, it will link you to an image archive. The Black Pearl plans, and a profile of the Flying Dutchman should be there.
