Picked up the cockpit for the Trumpeter corsair. before I begin paining, is there anything I should know? For instance, do acrylics sit better on the resin or enamels? Also, do people undercoat these things or just go right to chromate green?
A good washing with soap and water is needed. The mold release agent makes paint not stick to well.
[#ditto]I agree with eagle334, should also prime the pieces with some fine surface primer such as Tamiya’s or Mr. Surfacer. You can paint with enamel or acrylics.
Prime the resin first, then paint with either enamel or acrylic. Definately wash with warm water and soap before painting. [alien]
If you can- grab some of Gunze Sanyo’s Mr. Resin Primer. It’s fantastic and covers well. As I usually incorporate a lot of resin aftermarket products in my kits I buy a lot. It usually has to be ordered because my LHS doesn’t stock it.
aye wash and prime with Mr. Surfacer.
