Okay so over the weekend I went a bit crazy. I bought all this. Now this morning I sat back and looked and thought " what was I doing?!?!" So this is what I have to work on for the next plethora of months, granted I dont add to it (higly unlikely that I wont.) I even spent $200 for the Gundam model, which I have a large collection of as its nice to have something other than aircraft to work on. So how about you guys? What do you have on deck or in that dusty closet? 
I know exactly what you mean. I spent the better part of the past year buying kits left and right for no good reason other than it being an addiction of sorts. I already had around 150 kits in my stash and now I have well over 200. But I’ve done well for the past month and a half to 2 months at not buying any more except for a Guillows balsa kit. As far as what kits I have waiting in my stash it might be easier to say what I don’t have. I have that same Monogram Phantom kit and I have an Academy F-15 as well but mine is a different kit. As for the rest of my stash it’s pretty varied. It spans pretty much the entire modeling spectrum. I have armor, aircraft…airplanes and helis both…cars, ships, Sci-Fi and space, Batmobiles and a Delorean time machine, a Lindberg Concord stagecoach, a Renwal Blueprint Models Atomic Cannon, and some old Screamin’ and Horizon vinyl figure kits. And that’s just scraping the tip of the iceberg. Please don’t make me call them all out by name.[:'(]
I went through that stage while I was working in Afghanistan. I was buying anything and everything, mainly from the classifieds on various modeling forums, and every 6-9 months I would come home to a stack like this:
I went from about 100-ish kits to a touch over 300 in a three year time frame. Now the rub of the whole situation is that I’m back working overseas, plenty of time off, but the only hobby shop in the entire country is geared to R/C stuff. Now I’m going have to stock up on every type of paint and building material that I can think of and ship it by boat (paints and some other stuff can’t be shipped by air) when I’m back stateside on vacation this summer.
Now I’m loking at smaller kits (Formula 1, motorcycles, smaller aircraft kits) that I can ship back, vs larger, but cheaper kits (think Revellogram vs Hasegawa/Academy kits of the same aircraft) that I can leave behind…
Get to building, and I’ll be joinig the fun by early fall.
Im still in college and my paycheck goes towards tuition, books, and gas so I can only afford about 1 kit a month.
In some ways, you may not know it but you’re fortunate.
Oh im not fortunate. This is what I bought in just one trip to the LHS. I have about another 65 unopened models to tackle and about another 70 WIP’s. My modeling room is a mess. There is stuff everywhere. I know thats much compared to most of you, but seeing 135 models yet to be completed can be duanting at times. Im sure you all know the feeling.

jimNTENN LOL…I think EVERYONE and their grandmotherhas that Monogram F4C. Hell for the price its pretty damn decent as for accuracy and has a really nice compiliment of armaments. Ima gonna swap the drop tanks for two MER’s of Mk.81’s.
Reaper, I have no clue how I’m gonna do mine yet. I’ve only opened it and looked at it once. And you’re right about everyone having it. I’ve seen it mentioned on here a number of times. I got mine at Hobby Lobby and believe it or not the main reason I grabbed it was because of the box art. It just caught my eye and I had to have it. And I think that is because it brought out some fond memories of my childhood days. Those things used to fly over my house all the time. I can still almost remember that deep throaty roar that was so characteristic of Phantoms. But, the sweetest memory I have of them is from my days in 5th grade. I can still almost remember it like it was yesterday. The house we lived in was right below my school. The school sat on a hill…actually it’s still there. Anyway, I would walk down through the big field in front of the school, cross the street and I’d be in my front yard.
Well, one particularly bright sunny day as I’m walking home from school I hear this noise from behind me. I turn and look up over my left shoulder and roaring from behind the school comes this F4-Phantom dressed in the same or very similar camo as the one on the Monogram box. I could see the camo vividly because this thing was so low and banked just enough to starboard that I could also see the pilot silhouetted against the sky. Talk about an exciting spectacle for a 5th-grader. It almost gives me goose bumps just thinking about it now. And that one experience helped solidify my fondness of airplanes…not just airplanes but any kind of flying machine. So the Phantom is one of my all time favorite planes. I know some would disagree but I’ve always thought the Phantom is one darn sexy plane.

Geez, I must be doing something wrong. I’ve never owned that one. Got the Hasegawa versions, but never the Monogram/Revell version. Does that mean there’s something wrong with me?? [:'(]
I thought that it was required to have one on the shelf, stalled in mid construction as a minimum requirement to be an aircraft modeler above the age of 10.
Jim, I had a similar experience but with a P-51D Mustang back in 1964. Turned out to be Bill Fornof on a test flight of one he had bought. He also had a F8F Bearcat and later a second one his son Corky flew with him at Airshows. I saw Corky perform his first Airshow in the P-51.
Mel, that must have been awesome. I’ve never seen a P-51 fly. Did see an F-4U Corsair fly once, though.
Yep, see? I did it wrong! Now, I’ve gotta start all over again on a new stash. Wonder how much that’ll set me back? [:P]
