Hey All,
I couldn’t resist and finally bought the kit. Got it on ebay though, so will be a while before I begin building.
I’ve made lots of spitfires but I’ve never been particularly accurate about it. To this end:
Can you, a) tell me of any good physical reference material for doing a kit like this ? (Books/magazines etc)
b) Any particularly excellent on-line sources?
c) any other useful advice?
I got the Mk IXc.
Sorry… 1/32. I should have said!

As a start for online sites,
http://spitfiresite.com/ , www.spitfirebooks.com.au
as for books, hunt through osprey publishing, SAM publishing, wwpbooks.com/product.php
Hope that helps.
Alfred Price wrote the bible as far a\s history, “The Spitfire Story”. The book that comes with the kit is a great reference all by itself.

Try to get hold of No.26, in the “Wings & Wheels Special, Museum Line series, Spitfire LF.Mk.IX.” It’s a 150+ page walkround “photo manual for modelers,” ISBN 80-86416-25-9.
