I often see “bis” after the aircraft model/type of many foreign aircraft. What does “bis” stand for?
bis is roughly equivalent to the “A” or “Mark II” designation, akin to a second “generation.”
Literally translates as ‘again’ or ‘encore’ - Latin / French
