Binks 34-2025

Hello.

I was recently given a Binks 34-2025 compressor and airbrush. They are new old stock, and the brush has never shot paint. They are approximately 35 years old. I ran the compressor long enough to verify that it works. My question: Due to the age, should the compressor be disassembled and lubed before using? Do the seals on these units dry out, or is this a non issue?

This is a diaphragm compressor. I think the most likely thing to degrade with age is the diaphragm itself. I would just go ahead and use it. Taking it apart might do more harm than good.

I appreciate the reply! I had kinda thought that, but thought I would ask. I will just run it. If the diaphragm gives out, I will replace it.
