Well, the liquid cement got away from me and my Corsair now has a beautiful replica of my thumb in the wing. Here’s hoping I can sand it out without too much trouble.

hmmm…i think we’ve all been there!![:p]
Hey, at least you can prove that it is yours[:D]
dont feel bad my friend, ive got an index print in my corsair’s wing. needless to say, its airbrush fodder now. later.
Shoot, I spilt a whole bottle of liquid cement on a model once. I had to wait a while for the parts to, uh, solidify again, but after a little (okay, a whole lot) of sanding, it was good as new.
Been there, done that. Should be able to fix it OK, but it is frustrating to have correct an error when you really want to get on with the model. Good luck in smoothing things out.
thumb print cool. most of my builds end up with full prints of at least the right hand. if i ever end up on the end of a violent crime they can check who i am just by taking the builds and matching the prints.

My wife is beside me laughing about all your wisdom and support.
The upside is - I did sand it out. But getting the outer wings to fit right doesn’t look too promising. I remember now why my first Corsair at age 10 was such a disaster. Time to stick to Air Force planes with nice, simple shapes.

glad you got the thumbprint out!!! I have one on my NSX rear end, that I’m going to have to figure out how to remove. I just can’t tell if it’s on top of the future, or below!!! Ooops!!!
