I have been looking for a build review of the Trumpeter ME-109G-2 kit in 1/24 and have not seen one. I would like to do a big 109 and was looking for opinions on which one is best for an OOB project. I would like to do a G-2 but would do an early G-6 if the G-2 kit is not accurate.
All of Trumpeter’s 1/24 Me 109’s are the same basic kit with different trees with parts to make different versions. Of these the recent release of the K series is the most inacurate. This is because it is really the G version with some different trees to make it into the K series. In doing so they have not addresed all of the differences between the G and the K. I have the G-6 and in my eyes it is a well done kit. I can not find any fault with it. Hope this helps you!

Thanks for the reply
Which G do you have?
Actually I have the G-10 in my stash. I have not build it as of yet but I am about 50% done with Trumpeter’s 1/32 P-38. So far there are a couple of fit issues like the housings on the tail boom and of course the crappy photo-etch control surfaces. Other than the cockpit being a bit sparse I am very happy with the way everthing breaks down and fits together. Still trying to find enough space in the nose to fit the huge amount of lead needed to keep her on her nose!

I have the 109g-6 early and late kit’s and they look pretty accurate if I remember correctly. I have seen 1 G-2 built and it look good to me, but it’s been a couple of years since I’ve seen it. I don’t think the modeler did any corrections to it. Not much help I know. I think I remember the G-2 and G-6 kits were ok. the G-10 I believe had the odd ball parts but other than that was ok. Like soulcrusher said the K-4 didn’t impress me much. I like the hasegawa 1/32 K-4 far better.
Thanks , I guess I’ll have to take the plunge. I next need to find one on the cheap.
Hey mig,
here’s a review of the Bf 109G-6 early…[link]http://kits.kitreview.com/bf109g624reviewbg_1.htm[/link]
and here’s one of the Bf 109G-2 [link]http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=nl&u=http://www.ipms.nl/pim/trump-bf109.html&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=2&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3D1/24%2BTrumpeter%2BBf%2B109G-2%26start%3D20%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26client%3Dopera%26rls%3Den%26hs%3DBvK%26sa%3DN%26pwst%3D1[/link]
It was in Dutch, but after using Google translate, most of it makes sense.
Hope this helps!
Awesome, Thank you.
