Only the antenna and a little dunkelgrun touch up around the canopy and my battle weary Emil is finished, but I thought I would share the pics now anyway [:)] The weathering shows up a lotmore in the pics and although I leant on the heavy side it is a little more subtle than it appears.
The Hasegawa E3 is my third build and I found the fit excellent untill the canopy which took some sanding to get it in, hence the touch up requirement. I used the kit decals which have good regester although I could not avoid some silvering even with copious amouts of micro set and sol. Paints are Humbrol Enamels on the interior with Hannants Xtracrylicx for the main RLM70/71/02 and 65 the yellow is Vallejo Model Air Amorillo with a touch of rust to darken it a little.
I applied an enamel wash to the airframe and then Xtracrylix flat coat(which is supurb), the exhaust stains etc are pastel dust applied with a small flat brush.
Cool. I am working on their 1/32 109G-10. I hope it’s as nice as yours. This will be my second plane. The first almost turned me off of wingy thingys. Generally I am an armour guy.
Thanks for all the kind words guys, I was afraid I had over weathered a tad although I have seen pics of 109s with the fusilage so dirty you can only just make out the crosses.
Mustang to finish first then the corsair. The F16 is on the back burner at the moment as the resin cockpit and seamless intake have a little stumped at the moment [BH]
