BF-109k marking question

Hello all,

I have a Hobby Craft 1/48 Bf-109K-4 in the stash that I am getting geared up to start on. However, I had a question regarding the decals that came with the kit. There are some nice looking ones for an Italian marked plane from '45. What I am wondering is were these craft marked on the wings with the German crosses on the wings as implied in the kit directions or am I going to need to find some aftermarket Italian insignia?

Thanks for your help!

Mike

ANR post armistice German built aircraft carried dual national markings. Photos and profiles in Osprey’s Italian aces of WW2 show this. Wing crosses for certain, and fuselage crosses may or may not be carried. Italian tri color flags are carried on the fuselage and tail. Italian built post armistice aircraft had the fascist insignia on the wings, but not Messerschmits.

Thank you for the response! Now I had better get building!

Ha ha!!
