Is there anyone who can tell me how the engine cover topside opened on a bf 109e
The hood on the Bf 109 E was a one-piece cover, I found a very good picture for that on www.one-o-nine.com. It shows a rumanian “Emil” in weapon maintenance (think they were aligning or synchronizing the machine guns because of the mounted disc in front of the prop…). The discription says that this aircraft was lost over Stalingrad in November 1942, the pilot was MIA.
