Best way to get rid of a gap with half-track tires

Hi,

First post.

I am currently building a German halftrack and was wondering the best technique to make the gap between the two half’s of the plastic tires invisible. I lined them up as closely as possible but there still seems to be a gap. My current approach is to fill the gap with putty (and I did) but I worry about losing some of the detail on the tread. Any ideas from the collective wisdom?

Thanks,

Tom

I would stretch some sprue and wrap it around the tire filling the gap setting it in place with solvent. Once its filled, allow to cure then shape with a sanding stick.
