Hey all!

I got a question?

The question is, where can I fine the 3000-12000 grade sand paper. I got me a Canopy that needs to be well. Sanded.

And what compounds I can use to remove the Scratches! help out this Armor Scale builder that been converted to Aircraft!

Thanks
Uswin!

An automotive body supplier would have those grits. Squadron tri grit sanding stick would do the trick too. Dunno about the any rubbing compounds… dont use em

Why not try those sanding stick things found in the finger nail section of your local drug store? They have three different grits on each one until the final one polishes out extra smooth.

Hobby Lobby has the sanding sticks, one stick in one grit size, both sides. I’ve found that to keep me from using the wrong side.

Try an auto body supply store, or an auto parts store that sells body supplies.

My neighbor owns an auto body shop, and he claims that after you get past 1,000 grit, there’s hardly any difference. He said you may as well use plain notebook paper.

Arm & Hammer toothpaste has baking soda, that would work as a polising compound. Also, Bare Metal makes a plastic polish, I’ve used that on canopies, works well.

Future makes a good “polisher”. I made my P-47D and had a canopy mishap. Dipped it in future, took it right out.

You might also look at Novus plexiglass polish. We used it to clean and polish the canopy on the F-16.
