I would have to go with the P-51D for number one, but the F-14D is a close second. Spitfire and Mirage 2000 get honorable mention.

Though if we strech the definition of a fighter…I think the T-38 may be the best looking aircraft of all time.

I’m going to have to go with the sleek lines of the Gotha Go-229 flying wing. That counts, right? Mainstream however, P-40 was the best. Those spitfire fanatics certainly have something going for em too, though.

someone mentioned the MIG-3 as the most beautiful WW2 fighter. I could agree with him with no effort and wonder why most of us always talk about the same few hiper-known planes. In fact, there’s life otside them. Revising pics of my friend Julio’s models I’ve found this superb Macchi 202 “Folgore”. How do you like it?

For WWII my vote would be for the P-51 & BF-109
As for modern fighters, I’m surprised the F-14 doesn’t have many fans (besides me)
