What is the best type of putty to get for zimmerit? I have the tamiya applicator.

I used the Tamiya 2 part polyester putty. Works pretty nice. Dries fast, so add a little less accelerator (comes in a big putty tube and a small green accelerator tube and calls for equal lengths of each.
Tamiya 2 part is the recommended choice of the zim guru, Moses. Some people seem to like Miliput too. Just don’t use Squadron putty.
just dont use squadron green putty…dries way too fast.
You might want to try Aves Apoxie Sculpt.Gives you good working time, plus you can manipulate it with water. http://www.avesstudio.com
Hmm, been wondering this myself. What’s wrong with the Squadron putty? Is their white putty the same as the green stuff?
I’ve heard of a lot of people using milliput, but maybe I should pick up some tamiya putty.
Is Tamiya 2 part the same as the polyester putty?
My understanding is that 2 part and polyester putty are different. I have the two part and ordered the polyester and the staff at the LHS didn’t say anything. Squadron green dries way too fast and starts to crumble when you are working it.
The kind that I used (learned from Moses) had Polyester written on it (everything else was in Japanese), but it was a 2 part mix. One big tube of putty and one small green tube of accelerator. I just browsed at Great Model and they do not seem to have a separate listing for a different 2 part putty. By the way- it stinks like crazy!
