What, in your opinion, is the best Corsair (any revision) kit out there? I have a birthday present to build, and would like a high quality kit. 1/48 or 1/32 scales are preferred.
Tamiya !
Ill 2nd Tamiya, I have 1 in the stash. But I have been tempted to get Academy’s offering in 1/48th.
Tamiya…definitely.
Let me think…Tamiya.
In 1/48 scale, Tamiya for WW2 versions & Hasegawa for the later Korean War versions. In 1/32 scale, Trumpeter.

Building the 1/48 F4U1-D from Tamiya right now (pics on our site)… it’s a dream to assemble and everything just fits right together. I’m going to tackle the 1/32 Trumpeter kit soon as well, but the parts count is daunting…
I just built the Italeri Night Fighter version, and I really enjoyed that build. It was the end to my self proclaimed Corsair curse. I will post pics soon of it. I have the Tamiya in my 1D in my stash to build. I am seriously considering getting the Trumpeter 1/32. I have the Revell of Germany 1/32 offering courtesy of Hobby Lobby but I have heard some terrible things about it.
I built the Tamiya 1/48 F4U-2…Went together very well, and looks sweet!! My best build to date without a doubt.
Okay here I go sticking my foot in my mouth, But I have to go for a large 1/32 scale airplane the Revellogram F4U model is the way to go. It;s cheap, and is big enough to have the model detailed to the hilt. Plus I built several as a kid so I could play Baa Baa Black sheep so it holds a tender spot in my heart
