Best 2006 Model...

I know every model you build you get better at building things.I’ve built 7 in 2006,and I slowly get better at it. Out of all the models you built last year(2006),which one do you think is the best?

On the bench:1/48 testors bearcat still 90%

1/48 Kingerfishey 60%

1/48 Italeri Raptor just started painting seat

The best model I built was an Italeri 1/48 scale RAAF Mirage III/O.

It was the last model I completed in 2006 and it was a model of the Mirage my dad few.

For Christmas 2005 I built my dad the same model as a gift and the difference is amazing. What I’ve learnt in one year and 5 models is increadible. I feel really bad though as mine is a lot better than my dad’s. I think I’ll find a way of switching them.

I’ve only been modeling for about 18 months (If you don’t include the few that I built as a kid) and the only reason I’ve been able to improve is because of the help, encouragement and inspiration (through what I’ve seen others build) I’ve recieved from people on this board.

I’ve never had a harsh comment and the only critism I’ve recieved has been constructive and often with a solution/hint for future builds.

I can’t speak highly enough of all the people that contibute to this board and with their help I’ve become, and will continue to become, a better modeller.

In 2007 I plan to step out of the Cold war era jet’s I’ve been building and will try a few WWII a/c. The 2 tone blue and white USN birds really grab my attention as well as a few Axis and other allied schemes that really stand out.

Thanks again to everyone .

The best model i ever build in 2006 is from Revell 1/48 scale TBD-1 Devastator. I have been building model since i was kid but mostly of them was messy and not too good as today. I stopped doing model after jr high school or high school til I moved to rochester, New York and been doing model again in 2004 to now, I did 2 SBDs, 2 P40Bs, P36 and Devastator. Since i built the Devastator, it was my first time to do the weathering and some battle damages on my Devastator and it comes out so awesome. I only build two models in 2006 since I dont have alot of free time to do. I still have alot of models to build oopies.

My next goal 2007 is to try to build a sunken Arizona from Revell kit and hopefully it will comes out good. but of course, have to watch my budgets argh.

My one & only completed kit, the Tamiya/Amtech Ta183A Huckebein:

Hopefully 2007 will result in a higher throughput![:D]
