I typically just build 1/72 scale jets, but a friend of mine is a big Zero friend & I’d like to build one for him as a Christmas present. What are the best 1/48 scale Zero kits out there?
I ahven’t built this one, but by most accounts the Hasegawa kits are considered the “best” (which is always a subjective term). I’ve built 2 Tamiya zeros and enjoyed them thoroughly. They are cheaper than the Hasegawa kit and build into nice models.
The Hasegawa kit is considered to have more detail OOB.
The Hasegawa kits are much newer tooling & more detailed than the older Tamiya kit. Both can be built into great models, but the nod has to go to Hasegawa.

…not to mention the awesome variety of makes/models and marking options they have boxed…
