Best 1/35 M-10

Well, for the bulge dio I am going to be building a M-10 Tank destroyer. I am having a hard time deciding on which kit to get. The AFV club one, or the Academy one. Does anybody have any recommendations for me? Or maybe just something they have heard about the kits?

thanks![:)]

I have read reviews on both of the kits and both kits have some slight problems but nothing major. I went with the academy kit… the main gripe with it seems to be that on the back of the tank they molded on the outlines of the tools… something that has to be sanded off when u build it… and it was slightly better priced… some day i’ll even build it :>

I built the Academy M10, and I loved it!!! I had trouble with the shells racks, and that was it. the detail was awesome.I didn’t have trouble with those outlines because i covered the back with snow anyways!!

The Academy M10 is very nice, although I haven’t built the AFV Club version. I replaced the brush guards with a set from the AFVClub M10 P/E . You probably will want to sand off the pioneer tool outline as well. It certainly looks the part when it’s finished and you’ll have a few extra parts for your bin when your’e done.

I would personally go with the Academy. Both kits have their problems, but I have read that the AFV Club kit has incorrect dimensions. If you can, get a hold of the last issue of MMIR, as they had a full blown comparison between the two kits.

I have the Academy Duckbill kit, its still in the box but it has a full interior, including the engine

theres a review of the M10 duckbill here

and the AFV Clubs here

hey guys thanks for the info. I think I will be going with the Academy one. Thanks again!
