beech h-18 on floats

hi all. became another victim of log in problems,so have not been posting lately. i agree it’s getting old! i just finished a 1/24th beaver. i am going after a 1/48th h-18 and when doing research i found some really neat pics of some on floats. has anyone ever done one? i’m thinkin about tryin one. have to find a kit i can rob the floats from that are proportional. anyone have any suggestions ? thx

I have built a number of D-18s, but none on floats. Recently finished the new 1:48 D-18- forget whose kit it is- and it is a beaut!

I used the floats from a German float plane . Can’t remember which one though .

First thought was a pair off of a 1/32 Piper Cub, if you can find something in that line.

Okay;

I found the plane I got the floats from . It was a German ARADO floatplane . It now has tri-cycle gear ! You can also use the floats from the Seiran - Japanese float plane . T.B.

hey tank builder, don’t know if I could have just edited my first reply, but have a new question. I found both kits both in 1/48th and 1/32nd. do you remember which? I am assuming from your posts that you have done this kit bash, am I correct? I’f so any advice would be greatly appreciated. thx’s again

Hi;

They were both 1/48 .That and 1/144 are all I seem to work on lately .My preferred scale is modern fighters in 1/32 . In your post you said 1/48 .
