This is Academy’s 1/48 Bearcat. A real nice, simple kit. This one only took me 3 days (15 hrs.) to do.The only problem with their kits is that their decals are [censored]!!! I had to pull some better decals from my backup stash. This is my first attempt at a gloss finish on a plane and it came out fairley good. This particular plane didn’t hit the carriers til late 1945-46 and saw no combat. So, I built it clean with no weathering which is unusual for me. Comments always welcomed. Thanks for the look.
Good job. Looks nice. Nothing wrong with modeling a clean bird. IMHO, there seems to be a trend to overweather these days. The new tactical schemes can look pretty grungy at the end of a cruise, but not as bad as some of the models I’ve seen lately.
Very nice, Andy. My inly complaint is that you build these things too fast! I cant keep pace with you! Anyways, I love how yours came out…tempting me to buy the kit. Thanks for the words about the kit as well. Those types of comments are always helpful.
Look terrific. Well done. The gloss looks good… not TOO glossy. Those paint schemes are a real time and tape saver. Too bad Focke Wulfs weren’t in the US Navy[;)]
