Battle Damage

Hey, I have been looking for pictures of laser blast damage on hulls of ships, but I havent yet been able to find an image that I might be able to reproduce for my current project. A friend of mine had a vhs video years ago, that showed you how to weather Sci-Fi models, but we have lost contact with each other.

Any links for the pictures (or if anyone knows of a video), would help very much.

Thanks -Tom

while not the best show, the original pilot for Buck Rodgers in the 25th century showed some battle scars on his ship after he was thawed out and sent back to Earth. I don’t have any links, but it is a descent source to look at. The dvd set is available for a reasonable amountof money.

nice

I recently experimented with a little Battle Damage on one of my Macross kits.

I used a Dremel Tool and lightly ground a few spots keeping some rough edges then hit it with some paint. I thought it turned out halfway decent for my first try.

I have also seen others cut open holes then use ragged edged bits of foil glued and blended to the holes edges for a very nice effect. I’m thinking if you want long laser scars A dremel might be the way to go, or maybe heat a wire and lay it across the surface of your kit for those "just grazed me " shots. IF you do some experimenting make sure you share your results
