hello again, I was wondering how you’all make the bullet holes and ruff up the armor? I was also wondering if they might work on a sci-fi armor and air craft (sorry about the cross contamination, not good/ok?)?
Generally speaking, for roughing up surface texture, a lot of people use a rotary tool with a burr inside of it and gently scuff up the surface. For those of us not in posession of a rotary tool, any rough texture sandpaper, stippling with wet glue, and gently scoring with a hobby knife will work too. You can just go over the surface afterwards with a finer grade sandpaper to smooth it all out.
As for bullet holes and other projectile holes, you want to thin the plastic from the back side, then push and twist your hobby knife through the soft plastic to get a realistic looking puncture.
