Hi this is my first post here. I started a wildcat 4 years ago and am now just getting it finished. My question is what do you use to take off the residue of the bare metal foil… thanks in advance
I use wd-40 to remove the residue. It works like a charm. [:)]
I have read and heard that goo-gone will work as well. You can get it at any hardware/home improvement center…maybe even Walmart. But I am not sure if it will since you say its been on there for 4 years. But might be worth a shot.
Hope this helps…
Press some tape to the surafce and it should peel off with the tape. Youmay need to do it a few times.
I have great results by simply buffing it off with a Q-tip. Works well, especially if you are afraid to use any solvents near the paint.
Goo Gone does work great. Since it’s a citrus-based solved, it usually doesn’t attack the surrounding paint, and it won’t craze the clear plastic. Test in one small area first. I apply with with a cotton swab, which doubles as a scrubber to get up the residue.
