I got my PVN /3scout unit last night, from MS Gudam, and is it sweet! This thign just ooozes German WWII all over it, and thats my plan, to use that Tamiya German stuff ive got laing aruond (and always wondered WHY I did?) .
Got changes coming to this baby, if you have not seen the kit and dont knowwhat it is, check this out:
I’ve got one. Also have the Ramba Ral set. And the hover truck is on pre-order. Amazing casting. Lots of fine little detail. Keep trying to figure out how to make it a 2 seater and try for a scene from ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Gundam’.
holy cow, didn’t even know they existed. I think you should camouflage it with the tricolor scheme n a olivegreen basecoat to match the zeon stuff at the same time.
I’d definitely want to get that hover tank for 08th MS team stuff.
I am impressed with the overall crispness of the kit. its nicely complete and that back storage rack behind the seat is going to get filled with gear that a fast movign recon unit on its own would need.
Im thinking Trop, as in Afrika Korps, but I dont want to use just Sandgelb as my paint, so Im going to modify some colors a bit and go with a theme that my friend used on his Nats-winning GM this past August. May break it up a bit with a touch of green but not much. Also I want to change the uniform a bit and get away from the green/green look of the typical Zeon flight suit, but I havent made up mymind on that yet.
Two nice figures with seperate faces…wow! easy to paint stuff here.
Ive got a few figs and such to finish before then, so I have plenty on my plate.
For those who have not yet started the kit, it falls together with typical Bandai crispness.
I plan to replace the MG with one of the aftermarket units, or at least get a nice Adlers Nest turned barrel for it. The water can on the backside of the seat is too small (get a replacement from your spares) and you can detail the cable winch at will, and I will!
Once you get the halves together itseems flimsy, until the side foot supports and lower braces are installed, then it becomes quite rigid. Care will be needed in cleaning up the big radio antenna / rack on top (think Rommels GRIEF) as well as the front and rear “bumpers” I may replace those with stock instead, I see that getting broken as it get moved around from contest to contest.
Good, fun build so far, and only an hour or so put into it.
they ARE pricey but considering that the MG hangs right in front where all can see, and it would jus look COOL on the MG as an upgrade, Im gonna splurge…
its always a treat to see well done hardware in racing colors. There was a circuit in Europe (may still be) of heavy 6x6 and 8x8 trucks doing offroad racing, with colors and sponsor logos like depicted here .
