Ban Dai 1/48 AT-ST Scout Walker - COMPLETE after almost 5 years!

First of all, this is awesome!

I have Slave 1 in my stash, but I haven’t hardly even looked at it yet.

Your thread has made me kinda excited about it and I think I won’t pass up on another BanDai kit the next time I’m at HL.

I LOVE what you’re doing with this walker!

Folks,

I’m still around! I finished this model and display up a while back but got distracted with “real life” stuff … for a couple years. Please forgive me.

Anyway, here’s the final “ready for inspection” post. Excuse any dust that I missed while prepping the photos.

The sandtroopers are miniatures from the Star Wars Legion tabletop game, and were the first miniatures/figures I ever painted – I was happy with them, but have since dived deep into Warhammer 40K and my painting skills have leveled up a few times. Too late for these boys, though.

I do feel that the diorama base needs ONE more element, like some crash debris, some scorch marks, a droid, something like that. We shall see. For now I need to come up with a dustproof display case – this thing is NOT very sturdy! Ha!

Thanks again for following along on the build, and sorry for the long absense.

It was worth the wait!!! That looks fantastic!!! The walker, figures, base, the whole thing looks perfect! [ht]

Haha, thanks Gamera! It was a very satisfying build, in which I was able to use a lot of new techniques, most of which I learned here on FSM.

Missed this one earlier. Perseverance paid off - nicely done. And great pics as well.

I’m only here because Gamera threatened me. Just kidding, just kidding! [:D] [;)]

I remember seeing this build when I first discovered the FS forums a few years ago. It’s great to see it finished. It’s a wonderful piece!

I’ve enjoyed looking over all the photos. All the characters in the diorama feel like they belong there and are intergral parts of the scape. Especially like how the characters are in motion, giving it life. Much more engaging than a still life.

Thank you for sharing the final product!

This is awesome. Did you recognize any pieces parts from mainstream model kits that the movie modelers used to make the AT-ST?

Thanks folks! It was a really fun project and knowing I’d left this thread hanging was a good motivator to get the last touches done and take some photos.

I didn’t recognize any model kit bits personally, but they’d be before my time. To me, those other kits use AT-ST parts! [:P]
