Hi. A friend just gave me a hand-me-down Badger 180-11 compressor. Does anyone have any experience with this compressor? Is it worth using, namely for military (armor and aircraft) models? Is there a particular kind of regulator I should be using? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Absolutely it’s worth using. I have the same compressor, but without the auto-shutoff feature and it works great. Although it is a tankless, diaphram type of compressor, I have never experiences any pulsation out my airbrush.
The biggest drawback is that they are a bit pricey, but that’s irrelevant in your case. Other than a pressur gauge, nothing real special is needed for your regulator. Because the 180 topps out in the 30 to 40 PSI range, you don’t need a real high pressur regulator. You do need a moisture trap. My regulator has a moisture trap built into it, but during some recent painting, I had a some moisture problems, so I picked up a Bagder hose with an in-line moisture trap. A lot of users here have indicated that an in-line trap nearer to your airbrush is preferable to one attached to the regulator.
If you don’t have a hose, a Badger 10’ foot braided hose with the in-line moisture trap is ideal.

I have this compressor and just bought a regulator and moisture trap for it. Which way should i hook them up: compresor, reg, filter or fliter then reg. Thanks
