I must confess that the last plastic model aircraft I made was back in 1953. It was an F4U Corsair when I was 10 years old, and I doubt if it had more than 20 parts to the kit. I was absolutely shocked when I began to read about how complex the modern models are, but that’s a good thing.
I have begun to assemble the tools I will need for the past six months. I have an Iwata airbrush and Iwata compressor, but even airbrushing offers a learning curve as well as the types of paints, airbrush cleaners and thinners, etc. I am looking forward to picking the brains of the forum members so I can absorb as much knowledge as possible. It looks like a really exciting hobby even if I am a rank novice.
A word of warning, because it has happened to me: gathering the tools and assembling the spot for the hobby are the easy parts. Now you gotta do the modeling! Get in there and build.
Don’t sit in your easy chair and get lazy. Believe me - I know how this can happen.
